Buckhall Volunteer Fire Department
Buckhall Volunteer Fire Department (BVFD) proudly provides Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to residents of the Occoquan district. Established in 1981, our volunteers have answered the call for the community.
BVFD operates one station at 7190 Yates Ford Road. We are a member of the combined Prince William County (PWC) Fire and Rescue Association (FRA). The FRA consists of nine other volunteer stations, the PWC Department of Fire and Rescue (DFR), and you; the citizens of Prince William County.
Our geographic ‘first due’ responsibility borders from the Occoquan/Bull Run River (East) to the Prince William Parkway (West); from approximately Hoadly Road (South) to Liberia / Euclid Avenue (North).
BVFD Volunteers participate in the fabric of Prince Williams County’s combined career and volunteer Public Safety program. Working alongside Career personnel, BVFD volunteers provides First Responder Services by operating a Fire Engine, a water Tanker (for non-hydrant areas), a Brush Truck (for wooded areas), two Ambulances, and a Hazardous Materials (HazMat) support unit. BVFD volunteers primarily staff the apparatus 6:00pm to 6:00am daily, weekends, and holidays.
Our combined system provides outstanding Emergency Services while reducing taxes. Volunteers provide expertise and value to the FRA, without out cost to the taxpayer. These savings are attributed to committed, dedicated citizens giving their time for the greater good of the community.
